Farm Window
Smart Retail Display System
Since 2015 winter, I have led the software system development to build the 1st version of prototype for Farm Windows system by using openFrameworks and related backend technologies.
Farm Window is a set of expandable, connected display system, at this case we built from one set of two 55" LCD display to different combinations. I helped to plan, build, test and oversee the hardware installation as well as software development, in collaboration with on-site engineers to make the 1st displays system up-and-running at restaurant in Shanghai Xintiandi in 2016.

The challenges are tremendously huge includes over 4K video performances, how to utilize of AVFoundataion playback, video file format/codec optimization and also the challenge of Internet situation in the field.

Farm Window is an interactive ready display system built for chain restaurants. This system include hardware and software implementation to playback all sorts of multimedia materials, such as posters, videos, etc. The goal for building this display is to be prepared for the future smart retail and explore more opportunities for the small business owners. Farm Window system has been successfully deployed for more than two restaurants in Shanghai since 2016 spring.
